Streaks Score 3 in the 7th to Beat Washington 8-7

After a rough conference doubleheader over the weekend, the Sophs were able to rebound and win a nonconference contest at Washington on Tuesday. Ryan Osborn and Dylan Klinck provided the offensive punch early for the streaks. Osborn had a double, triple, and scored 2 runs. Klinck drove home 3 runs with a 2 out double in the 4th inning to make the score 5-2. Washington was able to take advantage of some defensive miscues and take a 7-5 lead entering the 7th inning. After the leadoff hitter was retired, Klinck was able to coax a hit by pitch to reach base. Peyton Isaacson and Nick Foster followed with infield singles. After a passed ball scored Klinck and advanced the runners to 2nd and 3rd, Matt Kohl then drove 2 runs home with a single up the middle. Isaacson then came in and retired the only 3 batters he faced for his 2nd save of the season. The streaks move to 11-10 on the season and host Rock Island in a conference doubleheader this Saturday at 11:00 am.

Sophs fail to put away UT in game 1, salvage split with 6-0 win in game 2

United Township managed to get 4 runs across the plate with 2 outs in the bottom of the 5th inning. Galesburg failed to add to a 3 run lead and spoiled 4 scoreless innings from Jake Thompson to start the opening game of the conference doubleheader. Galesburg failed to respond and dropped the opener 4-3.

The offense was quiet early in game 2 before Bryce Dejaynes was able to score Ryan Osborn from 2nd base on an error from UT. We were able to build on the lead in the 6th inning and get some insurance runs for Nick Foster who threw 6 scoreless innings before giving way to Peyton Isaacson who threw a scoreless 7th for the Streaks who are now 9-5 on the season.

Sophs struggle against strong pitching against Canton, Quiet bats and Errors cost streaks against PND

Nick Foster was the lone streak to get a hit off of Canton in the 3-0 loss in game 1 of Saturday's doubleheader with Canton. Game 2 was much different with the streaks pounding out 12 hits in a 14-1, 5 inning win. Jake Thompson had the big blow in the 2nd inning with a bases loaded triple with an error that allowed him to score as well. Nick Foster threw 4 innings, allowing only 1 run on 3 hits.

Monday night started well for the streaks with Cal Morling throwing 5 scoreless innings and the offense putting up 3 runs over the first 2 frames. Then the offense went quiet the rest of the game while PND took advantage of 3 galesburg errors in the last 2 innings as well as executing 2 squeeze plays to score 6 runs over the final 2 innings and win 6-3.

The Sophomores make the trip to Limestone tonight, while the freshman host Moline.

Geneseo handles adverse conditions, beat sophs; Freshman pound Rocky

It was a cold and windy day and a strong pitching performance that quieted the sophomore bats Monday night. Logan Davis got the start and the loss for Galesburg who fell to 5-2 on the season. Bryce Dejaynes was 3-3 for the streaks.

The freshman had far more success and defeated Rock Island 17-7 in their first game of the season.
