I don't think any coach puts much stock into rankings. Baseball is especially tough simply because of the influence a pitcher has on a game. In basketball/football the "all state" point guard, or the "all state" quarterback play in every game.
But, the dominant pitcher only gets to play once every four days or so. Baseball teams are different depending on who is on the mound. Still, for the sake of entertainment and discussion, I thought I would share this list compiled by the Prep Baseball Report on 04-11-11. Their list does not separate the schools into the four classes. It includes just a straight list of the top 25 teams in Illinois as they see it.
