Limestone Defeats Sophomores

We've got in a bad habit of having of one bad inning defensively each game lately and tonight wasn't any different. The score was 1 - 0 going to the top of the third inning after a missed opportunity to put some runs on the board in the bottom of the first when we made 3 errors defensively and walked 4 batters. Combine that with a couple of seeing eye singles and we found ourselves down 9-0 when the inning finally ended.

We wound up losing the game 11 - 2 after Colby Smith and Carson Cheesman had RBI singles in the fifth inning to prevent the mercy rule. Ryan Carl and Jake Hannam did a great job of pitching in relief, but we've got to find a way of limiting the damage and preventing those big innnings from happening. Offensively we matched Limestone with 8 hits for the game with Drake Sykes, Carson Cheesman, and Tanner Guss each collecting 2 hits a piece. We've got a lot of work to get better on both sides of the ball before we start the conference season saturday against United Township.
