Sophs Struggle at Pekin

After putting up a 1-0 lead in the top of the first, Pekin was able to score the next 10 runs with the help of a few errors, a couple walks, mixed in with a couple timely hits. We struggled offensively staying back against their pitcher who did not throw very hard, but threw strikes and allowed us to put the ball in play without much authority. One of the few bright spots for the Streaks tonight was seeing Ryan Carl go 2-3 at the plate in the 14-4 loss.
Baseball is a game that takes place everyday. I think that's one of the great aspects of baseball, but our team is struggling with that concept right now. We need to find a way to take big wins like the 2 on Saturday and the one on Monday and build on them instead of reverting back to bad habits that allow us to play as poorly as we did last night. We have got some more work to do before a tune up on Friday at Metamora and another conference doubleheader on Saturday at Quincy.
