Getting to play at home for just the 5th time in 20 games this season, we responded well against Peoria Richwoods scoring 9 runs in the 2nd inning and winning 11-0.
Riley VanVelsor got the start and threw 4 scoreless innings yielding only 2 hits and no walks, striking out 3. Carson Cheesman and Drake Sykes got some work in the 5th inning. Cheesman struck out 2 and walked 1 while Sykes struck out the only batter he faced to end the game.
Drew Nall led the Streaks offensively going 2-2 with a triple. Carson Cheesman added a 2-3 effort. Drew Diaz and Drake Sykes both added doubles in the 2nd inning. It was good to see us execute for the most part in the 2nd inning after failing to put the ball in play with runners in scoring position in the 2nd inning. Hopefully we can continue to play well tonight at UT.
