Streaks defeat PND

Like coach said...it wasn't pretty but the job eventually got done.  Galesburg beat Peoria Notre Dame by a score of 17-9.

In a matchup of regional number 1 seeds, the Streaks proved to be better on Tuesday.  While we continued our torrent pace offensively, we took a couple of steps backward defensively.  I am not too sure where that came from.  We have seemed to make great strides on the infield in recent weeks.  I hope this is all out of our system as our guys know that kind of play will cost us this Thursday.

Well, speaking of Thursday...the contest we have all been waiting for is finally here.  Galesburg versus Moline for the conference title will be played at Sundberg Field, starting at 3:30.  One win guarantees a share of the title while a sweep would give the Streaks their first outright title since 1993.  What a fantastic situation for us to be in.  It won't be the biggest game of the year for us...but it is the biggest game so far.  Either way it ends up, it can only help us to be prepared to handle the big game atmosphere.

Speaking of atmosphere, I hope to see you all at Sundberg supporting your Streaks.  They deserve it. (I understand the awkward start time may pose a problem for some of you for the first game)  The school has a little buzz going on as the kids are talking about the big game.  I have always been impressed with the way Streaksnation supports certain sports and I hope that continues on Thursday.  It will be a great show!

Go Streaks!
